Children's Ministry
Hendersonville's Children's Education Program strives to equip each child from birth through the fifth grade with principles and truths from God's Word. Our major activities are Bible classes, Vacation Bible School, Children's Worship, various services and recreational activities.
Bible classes are available during Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening worship times. All Bible classes meet in the Educational wing of our building. Each class combines Bible lessons and activities designed for the different ages.
Our Creation Station gives infants and toddlers a good foundation for the Christian faith. We begin with basic concepts of Jesus and God's love. We provide loving care and guidance for each of our children.
The desire of the Children's ministry team is to create an environment where parents, teachers and children feel safe and secure while in our facilities. We have a security system where each child from birth to 1st Grade and their parent must go through one of two security checkpoints. Members and visitors should receive a security badge. One is placed on the child and the other on the parent. Before a child is released following class, these must be matched.
Our Preschoolers through 1st Grade are GEMS: "God's Earthly Mini Seekers". In this department we prepare deeply impressionable little children for a spiritual awakening and the experience of being alive.
Children in 2nd through 5th Grades are the treasure seekers and their department is Treasure Island. These children discover, through Bible Study, who God is and the amazing way in which He can make a difference in their lives. Each of these classrooms depicts a Bible story about one of God's treasures. This department has two special areas: Treasure Point where the children in grade 1-5 earn talents and periodically can trade their talents for rewards. Also, Parrot Landing is our puppet ministry where Bible stories and application lessons are learned.
During our worship time on Sunday morning, we provide a Children's Church for 4's, 5's, and Kindergarten children. They step back to ancient times when a Bible character interacts with them, teaching them a Bible lesson. Puppets, such as "Clyde the Camel" visit to teach an application to the Bible story. Singing, games, memorization and crafts are part of this exciting Bible hour.
Sunday nights you will find "Transformers" meeting. These school age children learn truths and conduct services projects.
Our Vacation Bible School program is usually conducted mid summer over four consecutive nights Sunday-Wednesday. We have a selected theme and classes for all ages, birth through adults. Again all children are welcome and encouraged to participate.Click here for the pictures
With all our services and activities we are aware that children are our most important treasures because they are the future of the church. We believe that children can have a thriving, wonderful relationship with Jesus and God as they become "Treasure Seekers." Our mission is to work together with you to train children to know, love and serve God.
We look forward to working with you and your children!
VBS 2009 Passport to Paradise
This video contains memories of the Hendersonville Church of Christ 2009 VBS. It last about 12 minutes. The video includes 4 Bible stories that show the significance of water. Each of the characters brought the Bible stories to life for the kids.
