Adult Education

Our Adult Education Committee works closely with the Educational Director (minister) in determining the short- and long-range goals of the Hendersonville Church of Christ adult education program. Membership of the Committee consists of active teachers, including at least two women, representing all age groups. Its seven members will assist with the implementation of the Bible study curriculum for Sunday and Wednesday classes

Presently Doug Brown is the designated chairperson of the Adult Education Committee. The tasks of the chairperson are to assist the Educational Director in conducting the meetings, to generate discussion among the members regarding the meeting agenda and to focus the committee toward achieving set goals.

The Education Committee will serve in an advisory role to the Educational Director allowing a broad base of input regarding suggestions, teacher and co-teacher selections and assignments, and constructive evaluations. New teachers are required to complete a Teacher Application. If, in the view of the committee, the teacher applicant is qualified to teach, he/she is recommended by the committee to the elders for approval before he/she can begin teaching.

We are especially proud of having Dr. Rodney Cloud, a renowned Bible scholar, serving on the Adult Education Committee and as one of our teachers. He has provided excellent adult education programs, such as our previous "Journey Through the Bible" (Genesis - Revelation study). He provides the church with university-level learning opportunities, including Greek and Hebrew language studies and Bible archeological studies. Our adult teacher staff is dedicated to providing students with practical Bible-based solutions to everyday real life situations.
